The Oregon coast has a lot of popular towns and coastal features, but for me, none of them feel as much like a coastal home away from home as Newport. Integral to its interest is the historical aspect of the lighthouse, located on Yaquina Head and known as the Yaquina Head Light.

You can read the Wikipedia entry for yourself, but the lighthouse was built in Paris in 1868 and then shipped to Oregon.

You can now tour the lighthouse, including climbing the stairs and staring into the Fresnel lens. It’s well worth doing.
